Ministering to School Age Kids
The location and classroom breakdown varies with each service. We will be blessed to help you see where your child should be for class. There is a map and a sheet with this information on it by the school desk, at the end of the back hall also. At the start of the Sunday morning and Wednesday evening services the K-6th grade children go to the Worship room in the back hall, for a time of worship. They go from there to the classroom where you may pick them up after the service is over. For the Sunday night study the children go into the sanctuary for worship. At the close of worship they go to their classroom. Their teacher will be in the lobby to take them to the classroom.
If your child has a need we should know about please tell us. If they cannot eat some type of foods, if they have a medical or learning concern, or anything you think we should know: we want to know.
It is very important to develop a habit of bringing and using a Bible. Please help your children by bringing your Bible each time you come to church. You may also remind your young people to grab their Bible until it becomes a habit. If you or your child do not have a Bible see us and we will make sure you have one.
The Lord loves it when we worship Him in song. Please when at all possible, be here on time for worship. We need to learn to enter into His presence when we are worshiping Him. Our children pick up a lot from us. If they see us give no importance to this form of worship, neither will they. If at some point it is beyond your control to be here on time please realize that people are in worship. As you bring your child to the worship room be quiet so that worship is not disturbed. When you come to church your children are still your responsibility. If they are not in a classroom they are to be under your control.
To keep things decent and in order we want to keep people in the class they should be in. It may be a hard thing if siblings want to stay together. If they see they do not have the say in it they will do fine within a few weeks.
It would be appreciated if you would pick your child up as soon as each study is over, and then fellowship with your church family or go the bookstore, etc. Our teachers have some work to do after the last child leaves and may have children of their own to pick up. We understand that you may have more than one child to pick up. If you have an older child please let the teacher know if it is ok with you if he or she leaves at the end of class without you being there.
