Ministering to the toddlers
Welcome to the Toddler Room! This room is for any child who is walking well enough to "hold his own". We do not allow children who should be in the toddler room (or beyond) to be in the nursery. This room is not set up for them, where they can play and develop. Also as these young explorers are still mastering their walking abilities, it can be a hazard for babies on the floor.

The purpose of the Toddler Room The purpose of this ministry is not only to "watch your children," but to address their needs such as changing, comforting, and to "feed" these little lambs, building on the foundation you've laid at home.

Communication with the workers Concerning you child's physical needs, communication is vital. You must take the time to fill out the sign-in sheet: name, age, parent/caregiver and comments (feeding times, allergies, teething, etc.). The workers will turn to these sheets of information so it must be there. When you come to church you are still the parents. Anticipate your child's needs and come prepared - diapers, drinks, change of clothes and anything else your little one might need. Please label cups and pacifiers (after 10 minutes, they all look alike!) There is a limited number of diapers available, for emergencies only. Also be sure to make the person in charge aware of any special needs. If you would like you can bring pajamas for your child to evening services. When possible the workers will put them on the children for you. This may make it easier for you when you get home or if your little one(s) fall asleep on the way home.

Your child's saftey When you sign your child in, you must take the corresponding number, and turn it in when picking up your child. This is a matter of safety! Although many workers and parents know each other, there are always new faces. In light of the recent trend of abductions, we just won't risk releasing a child to someone without the correct number. Please don't ask our workers to do otherwise; it is for your child's safety. If you send someone else (including another child of yours) to pick up a child from one of these rooms, they must have the number card with them. This is the only way we can know if this person has your permission to take your child from the room. Due to the limited space in the toddler room area, please limit the number of people who come along to drop off and pick up the children. The congestion interferes with communication between parents and workers.

Sharing in the blessing The toddler ministry often seems to be taken for granted. It should not be taken lightly. Considering what Jesus has to say about children, and how precious your child is to you, please realize what a noble ministry this is. The structure of the childcare ministry here requires the sharing of care giving among the parents. This enables all of the parents to be fed. In light of this, we as the parents are required to alternate serving in the ministry of tending Jesus' littlest lambs. The more parents who serve occasionally, the more regularly we can all be fed in the sanctuary.
