Did Jesus go to hell? “Many times we Christians hear and accept things without a real investigation, and are often surprised when we learn of their origin. Those of you with a Catholic or Protestant background may have learned the ‘Apostles Creed’. It spoke of Jesus being born of the virgin Mary, suffering under Pontius Pilate, being crucified, dying, being buried, and on the third day rising again. The ‘Creed’ also states that before He rose, He had to descend into hell to suffer for us. Much controversy has developed because many people have accepted, as fact, that Jesus had to enter into hell and suffer on our behalf.”Pastor Bil, quoted above, will lead us through Scripture, teaching us the Biblical stance on this subject. He says, “There is no Biblical text, whatsoever, stating that Jesus went to hell, or had to go to hell to suffer for us and our redemption.” Taking us to 1 Peter 3, Pastor Bil explains verses there that have been misunderstood. We’re taught from Luke 16, Genesis 5, 2 Kings, 2 Corinthians and more. This thorough (yet concise) treatise gives us everything we need to know on the subject. Pastor Bil says, “If you really study the Scriptures, you will see that Jesus did not have to go to hell. It is another error that has crept into the Church without being searched out for its origin.”
“The Trinity is an area in doctrine that is often attacked by Satan and the cults. In this meditation, we will search the Scriptures to find proof that the Trinity exists. The specific word ‘Trinity’ is not found in the Scriptures; however, based on Scriptural evidence, it has been acknowledged and accepted as truth throughout the history of the church. The doctrine of the Trinity is basically stated as the belief that God is essentially and equally God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”Pastor Bil, quoted above, lays a Biblical foundation for the unity of the Godhead. Scriptures from Old and New Testaments reveal characteristics common to the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Pastor Bil says, “The Bible does not say that you can or must understand the Trinity. We are expected to accept it by faith. The Scriptures cause us to accept the Trinity, not try to explain it away. There is no way to avoid the truth.” Read and learn.
A “type” can be defined as a historical person, place or thing, designed by God, having an essential feature, which corresponds to another person, place or thing, yet future. An “antitype” is the term used to describe that future fulfillment. Pastor Bil says, “ Concerning the Scriptures, Augustine said, ‘ the new is in the old contained; the old is by the new explained.’ One of the ways that God Almighty teaches is by the use of Biblical types…The rapture of the Church is an event that we can all depend upon happening just as the Scriptures state. The Holy Spirit has given us types of this event in the Old Testament.” As we search the Scriptures, this concise booklet reveals much about the “mystery”, the rapture of the Church, referred to in 1 Corinthians 15:51. It also gives comfort to the Church, concerning the end times scenario soon to come. “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the Great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.” Titus 2:13.
